I’ve been following the blog for years. I don’t remember when I started. But if you are looking for an excellent resource for writers that supplies advice on style, grammar, word origins and more, to help you improve your writing skills - make it your NYR (New Year’s Resolution) to follow DWT in 2013.
This is the link to one of their posts during the last month of 2012 and I retyped my comment below (because the one I left at the post had typos - I can spell. I can’t type.)
The Word of the Year for 2012
**My comment left at post:
There was once a time when I had a house full of little people. Most of my children are grown now, except one of them. Were I to choose a word that represented the Word of the Year for any year when they were living at home, it would be “AS IS”. Which stands for: “accidentally or suddenly, I screwed up!” The “U” intentionally being omitted so that it doesn’t point back to the guilty party. :)
I very much enjoy DWT posts. Looking forward to 2013.
